 This is where it all begins.

 We specialize in teaching students with little or no prior firearms experience. 

• $109.00 -  Your own gun and ammunition (minimum 150 rounds needed).
• $139.00 - We provide the  gun and 150 rounds of ammunition.  (Recommended for new shooters - you can still bring your own gun)

Our pistol safety course exceeds the State of Florida's training requirements needed in order to apply for your concealed weapons license.  This course is based on the NRA Basic Pistol Safety Curriculum.

Course Outline:

Primary Goal:  "To teach the basic skills, knowledge and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. "
 

Classroom:

· Lesson I: Pistol Knowledge and Safe Gun Handling

· Lesson II: Ammunition Knowledge and the Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting

· Lesson III: Shooting Positions and Shooting Qualifications

· Lesson IV: Scoring Targets, and Selecting and Maintaining Your Pistol

· Lesson V: Continued Opportunities for Skill Development  

Range:

Here you will put together the basic elements learned in the classroom to practical use.  One on one instruction will be provided to make sure you are able to connect the theoretical to the practical. 

Students must qualify at Level 1 to earn a Basic Pistol Course Completion certificate.  The qualification for Level 1 is  firing four five shot groups within a four‐inch circle at 10 feet. 20 shots total, five within each circle to qualify.  

 This course builds on what you learned in the "Foundations" course. Adds practical applications  to your self defense tool kit.

• Tactical Reload
• Jam clearing drills (Tap, Rack, Shoot) 
• Shooting from barricade 
• Shooting from seated position

Equipment Requirements:

• Handgun (Ideally the one you choose for protection)
• (Loaner guns available for a fee: $25.00 + ammo at market price)
• Proper holster
  • Must cover trigger if  striker fire
  • Contact me ahead of time for approval or recommendations
• 250 rounds of ammunition (5 boxes of 50) 
• Ear protection
• Eye protection

Qualification Requirements (either of the two below):

• Must have completed the AAA Gun Safety Foundations course, or
• Must have completed prior certified firearms training with any of the following:
  • Law Enforcement Agency
  • Military
  • Recognized Private Training Organizations
    • NRA, Rogue Methods, Sheepdog Response, Novo Arm, Thunder Ranch, USCCA, etc.
